History
Sunrise Systems, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Henry Appleton and Paul Miller and has been producing LED moving message signs continuously for 36 years, longer than any other company in this industry. We produced the first such display ever to incorporate a microprocessor in 1979, the first multicolor LED display in 1982, and what was probably the world's first full color LED video wall at Harvard University's Memorial Hall in 1995. We have built a wide range of LED display products over the years including tiny hand held devices, whirling 3D volumetric imagers, and permanent architectural installations hundreds of feet long.
Much of our work is commercial, involving permanent custom displays for architectural environments. We have built hundreds of ticker displays for banks and brokerages. We get frequent referrals from other sign manufacturers for projects that are out of the ordinary. We have done extensive work in the exhibit industry including many projects involving multimedia integration. We have also worked in the public transit sector since 1988. We produce thousands of small rugged signs each year for use as passenger information displays inside transit vehicles. Reliability, on-time delivery, and customer support are essential to our success.
