Henry Appleton – President and Co-founder, Henry began the business with the late Paul Miller initially using LED technology to develop medical equipment. Henry worked at Boston University School of Medicine for 19 years, first in the engineering department and then in the department of Neuropsychology. He was instrumental in the development of the first integrated circuit based Continuous Performance Tester (CPT), a product that today is the best instrument used to test for ADHD and other anomalies across a broad range of human testing. Later with Paul Miller they developed the first microprocessor-based Continuous Performance Tester before creating their first programmable LED sign, the Oracle 600. As head of the Sunrise marketing team, you’ve probably run into him at countless tradeshows over the years.
Paul Miller – A graduate of MIT in Electrical Engineering, Paul co-founded Sunrise Systems with Henry and Judy in 1976. Until his untimely death in 2005, Paul was responsible for designing many technological breakthroughs in the LED sign industry. They include the world’s first programmable microprocessor-based LED sign, the first tri-color LED sign, the first of the large format full color signs and his last design, the “Curtain Wall”; a transparent LED sign on which text and graphics can travel across the sign face while allowing the viewer to see right through the sign.
Judith B. Appleton – Judy is also a Co-founder of Sunrise Systems. Judy has been the office manager and overseer of all things financial within Sunrise since day one.
Eric Harrington – General Manager, Eric joined Sunrise Systems in 2005, after working at the top of his field at GE. Originally a scholar of physics, Eric adds a resourceful excellence to the Sunrise team. Always spearheading the next greatest development in LED sign capabilities, Eric has proved invaluable to the success of Sunrise Systems in the 21st century.
Steve Budak – Operations Manager and Director of Mechanical Engineering, Steve is responsible for the design and fabrication of all Sunrise’s custom installation and chassis designs. Steve has been working in the field of mechanical engineering for 16 years, after earning a B.S. from Wentworth Institute. Always optimistic about the possibilities, Steve contributes that extra effort which makes the difference between mediocrity and superior quality in Sunrise products.
Kaleb Christenson – Project Manager, a computer science professional and Minnesota native, Kaleb is currently serving the Sunrise staff in software development and sales engineering.
